the knocking sound is a badly timed valve, you need to retime the valve openings via the sdistance between valve stem and rocker

Really good video Turn the key push in turn slightly hole in for 15 sec then fully turn key not much to fit new glow plugs and diesel pump service and fuel filter and back to new.Once you got it going sounded good and run sweet
