Guitar lesson teaching how to play - ‘Neat Neat Neat’ - The Damned
Written by Brian James.

This track was released as a single in 1977 on the Stiff records label. This coincided with band also releasing their debut album ‘Damned Damned Damned’ with ‘Neat Neat Neat’ as the opening song.
This is a gut punch of pure punk angst, it powers forward on full throttle and at the brink of blowing apart. Play it loud my friends and enjoy.

I learned this and other songs at a sound check in the early '80s from Captain Sensible and Roman Jugg.
The bar codes you play at the beginning of the song were played on the bass and the Chuck Berry lick was played on the higher octave and came in on the third bar.
Of course if you don't have someone handy to play the bass parts then it would have to be played all on the six string.

Well explained for those who already understand rock guitar. I don't mean to sound nasty. I get frustrated listening to someone hold my hand through AC/DC licks when I can play Iron Maiden. At the same time, we could stand a few more kids getting slowly walked through The Damned and not cutting their teeth on Green Day. Regardless, nice job.
