Best person for the job right? It's not like we put unqualified people in charge of important offices right?

Against the recommendations of the Pentagon and Defense Secretary Austin for a more qualified candidate.

Sounds like affirmative action to me, how about you?

Well that will send chills down Xi's back.

this should have never happened...how she went from bs in journalism, ROTC commission, MS from University of Phoenix online, admin officer, to a battle group commander is beyond question. the wikipedia note of "navigator" is deceiving, , she is NOT rated as an aviator, there are no quals her to be CNO. this opens the door to the wrong precedence. nothing like listening to your boss tell you to carry out combat ops when she's never been in the thick of it.

Obiden still cares more about genitals than he does qualifications.

well if anything's been true of this admin, it's that diversity in favor of qualifications works.. right? yeah

Is she actually qualified or is this one more checkmark for the yearly "diversity, equity, and inclusion" quota?

Is she the best candidate or the best woman candidate? That is the kind of question that the current narrative from the Whitehouse invites. BTW I've met her and she is impressive.

Well, there's the nail in the coffin for the US Navy!

There goes the Navy! lets not put the most qualified but the one who got there because the standards were lowered and people needed to fill a quota.

Dang Navy. Well, I won’t disrespect the brave people who have joined I just feel bad that this is what our defense is stuck with.

I'm confident she has a good career but the navy is probably the most important service in the wars to come. Hope she wasn't picked for ill informed reasons and congress does a proper vetting.

China is very happy with this nomination.

So Biden chose the best woman instead of the best person for the job, because quotas. That's how we ended up with Kamala Harris and Rachel Levine (first man to become woman of the year).
