Wentworth Falls walk

We went for a walk to Wentworth Falls which is not far out of Whangamata, ran into a few stick insects along the way, one of which was dead and had been for quite some time. After a few minutes silence and some tears and half a box of tissues we moved on to the falls themselves. Then it pissed down, torrential rain for an hour during our walk back until we got to the car, then it stopped... Went for a walk to Whangamata beach for a look then caught a sunrise in the morning.

Too bad about the cicadas and stick insects with the fungus killing them. I wish something would be as good at killing our mosquitoes though! Otherwise, looked like a nice hike -- got kinda ominous looking at the end. You can thank (or blame) Mark (Wye Explorer) for me visiting your channel.
