Steingraeber acoustic grand - "Falling Grace"
Location: Allegro Pianos, Stamford, CT.
Copyright © 2010 Leitmotif.

This video is part of a series of recordings done during my search for an acoustic grand piano and is not intended to be a performance, nor an endorsement of the piano. Nothing beats test driving a piano in person - it is indeed the best option, but having played on several makes and models, I needed a reference playback which enabled me to review/relive my experience on these instruments once I left the showrooms, and these video recordings helped me do just that.

To allow for easier comparison, I played the same tunes on different pianos, in this way the density of notes, range of octaves, touch & dynamics would be more of less standardized.

@LeitmotifMusic I guess jazz in itself is just a whole new dimension, Iill certainly try to look deeper into it, it's very interesting how you said it may improve classical playing as well :-)

Hi ramona, im your new fan, lol. I too have had classical training, but prefer jazz. Yeah, anyone can make the switch. Im a beginner student of jazz, but its where my heart is, because its free.

I watched you playing Mozart (wonderful, btw) - I have the same background as you - played classical music for about 15 odd years before falling a willing prey to jazz and improvisation. If I could do it, you certainly can! Seek out a good jazz teacher who knows where you are coming from - the bonus is that it will make you a better classical pianist as well - I promise!
