Steam Bending a Wood Hoop

Steam Bending wood is one of the best ways to create a hoop. In this video, I'm steam bending a half inch piece of walnut into a circle. The steam bent circle will dry out in a few days however that can be excelerated with a heat box. Once the dried the steam bend circle will be cut and tapered on either end, creating a scarf joint, which will be glued back together to make the hoop.
