Hi there! Come along with me and my boyfriend Gregory to Les Sables d'Olonne in France, where I shoot with a French film camera called the Semflex, and celebrate France's 'Independence Day' (14th of July).

You are so right, I have a Mamiya C330f with a number of lenses and viewfinders. You need to be a body-builder to carry it all. I've not tried a Semflex, but my Yashicaflex S is very light and lovely to use. I especially like a TLR for black and white film because I can put an orange filter on the "taking lens" and still see properly through the viewfinder.

This reminds me of a lubitel TLR I had years ago 👍🏻🇬🇧

Nice little camera, and the photos came out well. My view of film photography is that any imperfections such as a not very sharp lens are all part of the film experience and one of the reasons people use film. The technical perfection of modern digital cameras is sterile and boring.

Thanks for the cool review! On some of the landscape shots you seem to have light leaks from the sides of the film, do you know if this due to an issue with the camera itself, or was the film roll handled improperly at some point (for example not sealed tight enough after exposure)? I have not noticed this specific issue with any of my Semflexes - I own 3 of them at the moment 😊 As you mentioned there are many variants, some have a semi-automatic operation with crank advance and separate shutter cocking (called "semi-oto" in Sem documenation). This mechanism works ok on my examples but the camera is more complicated to load and does not feel robust... it does work though! There also are "oto" examples with crank advance AND synchronized shutter cocking but they are rare, more expensive and I don't have experience with them.

Nice camera. The photos came out nice. I looked at the prices. Not cheap at all.
