Look at WR in 85kg and 94KG, 187+218 and 188+232. Even if he lifts a high % of 94kg snatch WR, he still roughly snatches the same weight as elite 85kg lifters while being 9kg heavier. C&J was his forte as is the case in 2005 where he lifted 216KG to beat out the competition, 5kg more than the next person in C&J and 1KG more than Lu Yong.

Ilin's gotta be one of the strongest dudes on the planet. You can tell by the way he lifts. He's close to being effortless with those weights.

@tldevilsh Last time I checked 181 kg is 7 kg from the world record 188 kg and he didn't even medal in Snatch at the 2011 world's. He won because of his superior C&J.

@leeonr When you say a lift is strong, there must be the potential to break world record. Like Lu Xiaojun, I would say he's pretty strong in both lifts - 174kg snatch and went into the receiving position of the 211kg c&j but couldn't stand. If I rephrase and say Ilyn Ilin is very c&j dominant, are you going to argue again?

Yeah! I hope he breaks the snatch record and maybe even get like 230+ on the C&J, I imagine if he can nail a 226ish on 2nd attempt then he should try for a world record or whatever after that

They called his 184 a press out. Sucks considering the loaders didn't lock his right side down properly. You can see the weights slide out two or three inches.

Snatches same percentage of WR as his CJ is of WR, yet still has a relatively weak snatch. Makes sense.

85 kg snatch record is that high only because of Rybakou.
It's not like every 85er can snatch in the 180's in their sleep (like Rybakou could a few years back).

@leeonr Dude, let me ask you one question? Is his snatch better or c&j, answer that question and you get the relatively weaker lift, ok? If you still have doubts, I suggest you to look up the word relatively on dictionary.

@leeonr Did I say his snatch is "WEAK"? Didn't I use the word "RELATIVELY WEAK"? I'm just making a statement that snatch has never been his strength would you agree to that? It's the case in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2011. In all these events his C&J closed out the competition.

@tomphillips105 I'm the opposite of you. I think Ilya is stronger for his weight class. There are maybe two guys I've seen that get under the weight just as fast or faster...Vanev and Sagir.
