The Brick Presents
Machine Learning Hamlet; or Text Like Daggers
July 23-29 live and in person at The Brick Theater
and broadcast live via The Brick YouTube Channel.
“Hamlet (or something like Hamlet)”, performed by a computer AI (artificial Intelligence), for live in-person audience, and live-streamed to remote audiences.
MACHINE LEARNING HAMLET; OR, TEXT LIKE DAGGERS is inspired by Janet H. Murray’s foundational Game Studies book, Hamlet on the Holodeck: The Future or Narratives in Cyberspace. It explores the place of the "the live stream" in our media landscape (Youtube Live, CNN Live, Saturday Night Live), and, the difference between “Live & In-Person” and “Live & Remote” (“Here & Now” vs. “There-&-Now”).
Conceived and Directed by Jesse Freedman and with an original script based on a Shakespeare, the 1981 text adventure computer game ZORK 1, and the iconic media personality, Max Headroom.
