I hope Platypus sees this video and can answer my questions.

I'd be leery of that. Hopefully Platypus will get back with you.

That is why I always use Katadyn Hiker Microfilter. Never had a clog, easy to clean, replaceable filter and good water flow. Fast enough for me. I know it is not for everyone. Hope you hear back from the company. Thank you for sharing.

I use the "First Need XLE Elite Water Filter" Which is a purifyer. Weighs more but I can always test it with food coloring. Where sawyer the food coloring passes right thru. I personally do not trust those straw filters at all. Have videos on my channel comparing both

I emailed Platypus. They never responded. This was my second quickdraw filter. My first had terrible flow so I sent it back to Amazon and Amazon made it good NOT Platypus.
Due to absolutely ZERO customer service I am DONE with Platypus. Sawyer is the way to go!

I was going to get this filter once my squeeze stops working but I see a lot of failure videos.

If broken fibers I for sure would not use.

I have the same filter. Platypus won't answer. Just returned from the appalachian trail and Platypus was being used by thru hikers extensively. Saw just a couple bee free and sawyer. I started carrying my 2l Platypus gravity filter as well as the quick draw. My gravity filter never fails
