I am SO excited for the FNAF Movie to come out, but even moreso, I'm excited to see how it's going to effect the greater Five Nights at Freddy's timeline. I just hope it's not like the book lore, where it's not clear as to how it relates to the games. I'd rather it either be very clear what is and isn't canon about it, even if that means none at all. But here's hoping it's not only canon, but can solve that weird middle part of the timeline!

You're all not ready for when phone guy is revealed to be the man behind the slaughter.

I’d imagine the movie would either retell the story that Scott originally meant to tell, be a fresh new story, or it could help fix the lore. The movie has been a thing for a LONG time, so I have high hopes that this movie will be 😀👍

Hank is a nickname for Henry, and given the actor's look to what Scott's interpretation of Henry is, it's pretty safe to say they may be one in the same. It's also a very simple rug pull of a secret, most children won't see "Henry" when they see the name Hank.

I feel like Scott is going to tell the FNAF story that he wants to tell in this movie, whether or not that lines up with the game timeline. So even if it doesn’t go together with the game timeline, I’m just excited to see what kind of story Scott wants us to see. I’m also a little worried about the fan base; I hope that not too many people get super picky with it cause I’ve already seen some of that with the leaks. I don’t care if the walls are a different colour or if the animatronics look exactly one to one with their game counterparts, ya know? I plan to do my best to push aside a lot of my FNAF knowledge when I watch the film; I think it’s the safest way to go about it. And I think we all need to keep in mind how much of the lore is more so head canon. I can imagine thinking “wait that’s not how the lore goes” or something like that, when in reality it’s just a detail that we’ve excepted to be true when it didn’t need to be the case. Just spitballing.

I'm assuming Vanessa was included so they could have a familiar character for anyone who was introduced to the series via Security Breach, the newest game. Possibly a vice-versa situation, too. Anyone who just learned about the series via this movie can pick up the newest game and bam! A character they're familiar with, and a fresh dlc story.

Honestly I think the right move is the easiest: The movie will be it's own story. That way they don't have to worry that much about making everything fit, they just need to pick things that fit into what they want to tell and leave everything else aside.

i personally am assuming that whatever we see in the movie will be a metaphorical retelling of a portion of the story. Not 1 to 1 with established lore, but close enough that it might drop hints at things we don't know yet. Film is such a different medium for storytelling that it might be very different just to tell a good story for the movie.

Personally, here's what I think about Vanessa's character:

The books and games have always had discrepancies. Scott Cawthon had retconned the franchise to hell and back, even some of the things in the games make no sense (think Save Him minigame being retconned to Save Her as Charlie is the Marionette)

It could be entirely possible that only PART of the lore presented in this movie is entirely Canon 1:1. I mean, fazgoo exists in the books but obviously isn't canon in game. This could just be a silly little retcon for just the film universe specifically. Kinda like how the Silver Eyes novels have PARALLELS with the games, but not everything presented in them is Canon entirely.

So this Vanessa could just be a metaphor/parallel to the SB Vanessa while not entirely being the same exact person (Charlie in the games versus Charlie in the books)

...Or it's just a business/marketing decision because Scott wanted a recognisable character from SB in the movie to help draw in the crowd of new FNAF fans who came here from SB. Take your pick.

Regarding Springtrap, if he actually appears in the movie, I am 110% sure that it would be a look at the future in the ending. Or, since this is the year 2023, there could be an obligatory post-credit scene of him.

One reason I could see Vanessa being here is that we have to remember that Fnaf was supposed to end several times throughout the years, essentially everything that came after Fnaf 3 was tagged onto the story. Now that we are as far as we are in the games, the movie might condense the whole story into something that's narratively cleaner, so for example instead of security breach things only happening once we get to like a fnaf 3 or 4 movie, William is shown looking for/training a successor during the modern day in this movie, so when events that take place in later movies happen, Vanessa is already established as a character that the audience is familiar with instead of it feeling tagged on.

Remember, Matthew Lilliard said he signed on for a trilogy. Most likely, they have filmed certain parts for all three movies, hence why we see things that come later in the timeline.

My pet theory, with nothing to back it up, is that Vanessa will be a post-credit or other form of sequel hook in a scene set in the future, or unrelated and only named such to get the fans talking.

I hope the fnaf Movie is just a streamlined version of game concepts first and foremost. More just "FNaF: In it's purest form".

Also a note on the Abby thing. Abby can come from the "elizABEth" part of the name. It's rare but a thing. It's more importantly an anagram for Baby.

Mrs. Afton beeing played by the two actresses also makes sense if you compare the two women.
They look enough alike to play the same person (assuming Make-Up and aging) They both have a very pronounced Jawline and kind of stern look.
Would be amazing to see more of Williams Wife. I loved the game theory about her.

P.S.: Concerning Vanessa, I think she might be a troll. Not the same Character, just a blond woman in the story. That would be the kind of red herring Scott loves.
P.S.S.: I love the casting for William. Matthew Lillard is a good actor and has enough Horror Pedigree with his Scream Roles.

My (now) 6 yr old son got me into FNAF lol. I started listening to the lore a year or two ago and I finally understood the hype around this game series. Needless to say, my kid and I are excited to see the film this October.

One more thing: Vanessa might only show up at the end of the film as a teaser for the next one. Maybe?

Bless you for your attitude on spoilers. I’ve felt like I’ve been crazy for years when I say I don’t care about spoilers. It’s not the reveal that matters, it’s the experience and how the reveal is executed.

I think the movie is going to be it’s own thing honesty. Which is great tbh! Because I’m actually excited to see how Scott wants to re-tell the original story. It’s really cool to me. Also.. how he’s written afton this time around will be interesting for sure lol.

But I’m perfectly fine with it not connecting to lore or anything like that. Shits already confusing enough lol. But, I’m for sure excited for this movie. Your video made that excitement go up so thank you 😂

I'm like 99% sure the movie is going to end up taking place in it's own canon like silver eyes and such. Still would be nice if it was completely game-accurate and canon though. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Can’t believe you didn’t realise that Garrett is clearly the younger robot of Gregory, which has been sent back in time by the spirit of Micheal to stop William.

Honestly the Vanessa stuff in my opinion could be easily explained with the idea that she will just appear in flashforwards in like a post credit scene or the ending or whatever, something akin to like what Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul did in which they showed future events and it slowly builds up to how it got to that point. That is of course if we are to assume there may be more than one movie.
