Is this the last of the Wide Canal Locks? | Boat Life

No two days are the same when you live on a Narrowboat as you never know what is going to happen or who you are going to meet when you set off cruising for the day. My cruise started with me single handing the first wide lock to meeting an unexpected visitor (my mum) who helped me through Beeston Iron Lock, to then sharing the remaining locks including Bunbury Staircase with a fellow boater.
I love the unpredictability of this lifestyle and embrace it. I finally moored up in the dark at Barbridge. What a day!

After selling my house to experience an alternative lifestyle I bought a canal boat and a camper van which as a solo female who loves to travel, gives me the best of both worlds. Hello Heidi, You are so right in saying curveballs can come anytime, My wife & I are the same age as your lovely Mum, fractured hips & knee replacements were never in our retirement plans but here they are, You have to make the best of it.

I absolutely agree with your sentiments Heidi life is for living and your never the wrong time, I was extremely active and only 57 and now diagnosed with ME these few years so mostly bed bound with the occasional good day . Like Heidi says folks LIVE your best lives this is not a rehearsal folks
