Tips:
1. Use hot glue for felting the EDGES, regular elmers glue works better for smoothing out the felt on the mask

2. When your cutting fur (if you fur your masks) NEVER cut vertically! It looses fur, makes a mess, and your fur will be in a straight line and wont look realistic.

3. Use cardboard for muzzles and smooth it out with COMPRESSED eva foam. Use regular Eva foam for the ears and anything 3D! (I prefer 1 inch for the ear but half inch for 3D things)

4. Get white fur only, it orevents you from wasting money on different colored fur. If you get white fur you can airbrush the paint on it or use markers! It makes it much easier to get your desired color without spending too much money!


6. Use white felt or fleece always unless your mask is dark colored with few to no light colors. (Difference: Felt is less stretchy and more tough but soft. Fleece is stretchy, soft, fuzzy and usually cheapers to but in bulk!)

7. If you want a realistic look for the felt/fleece, then use 1-2 refrences only, especially if the colors are complex or shaded/fade. For the furs realistic looks, AIRBRUSH paint it OR use markers (preferably alch0h0l markers, Ohuhu markers ect. Never use posca on the fur tho, it bleeds and makes it wonky)

8. If you have accessories like feathers, bracelets, beads, crystals, chains ect. Then glue them on the back of the mask or hide them with fur, it makes it less visible!

9. ALWAYS use a reference for your mask! It is much easier to color the mask with a reference then when your just going at random. (Even if you have a refrence in your head, find a similar one or draw it, even use mask ideas, unless there free give credit tho ofc lol)

10. (This is just a preference) I like to cut the pointy sides of the masks down a bit, it allows the mask to flesh to your skin a lot better, again this is just a preference of mine, it depends on your head shape and how you want to mask to fit on your head.

11. If your making bendable ears, make sure you put wire all along the ear and when your felting/fleecing/furring it, do it on different sides, dont ever fur/fleece/felt it like you did the mask, it prevents the ear from bending and its just a waste of a wire.

12. If your doing details like antenna's, glue the antenna on and put cold water on the glue, it dries it faster so the antenna doesnt have time to bend or move off of the glue!
