If you’ve been following along our journey, you know we LOVE to eat & it seems that we are constantly stuffing our faces with the best food in Italy 😂🍕🇮🇹 And while that is definitely true on some days, the reality is 99% of the time we actually grocery shop for food to cook and eat at home. So I thought it would be fun to bring you along on our weekly grocery store run to show you how much groceries typically cost in Florence and what we usually buy in a week at the shop! @TheGlobalExpats

I'm so excited that YouTube recommended this video to me. Italy is the only country that I've been to that I love just as much, maybe more than my country New Zealand. I find it really interesting seeing other countries supermarkets cost and product range. I've never tasted better bread and pizza than I had in Italy. I spent my first three days in Rome with some locals I'd met where I ate dinner. They were in Rome to work and study. One night I was eating alone so I was looking at my tourist map and the pizzeria owner came and sat with me and showed me some places to go. Venice is my favourite city and it was nice to get to know some of the locals who were all friendly. I loved my time in Italy.

Moving to Italy :) So much cheaper than Wegmans or Whole Foods in the US. Eating home is always healthier (except the frozen pizza) while saving money.

Hands down Italian Grocery shopping is so much fun - they have so many different varieties of food and looking at the seafood we don't get that in other countries.

Non è facile per uno straniero trovare la Coop a Firenze...perché tutti i fiorentini la chiamano "la hop" 😉

Italian supermarkets have great sausages, their everyday sausages would be considered gourmet in other countries and much cheaper

Stop feeling apologetic about eating pizza. Honestly, enjoy! Life is short. Happiness is also important!

And I love your shopping there. Things seem so cheap

I’m going to Italy next month and found your channel. My immediate thought “that girl was my college orientation leader at cpp in 2012” 😂 you’ve got a face that’s hard to forget, and I mean that as a compliment lol. Glad to see you’re doing well

I love going to supermarkets abroad. I know Lemon Soda is nothing like lemonade that you are used to, still it is my absolutely favourite soda when I am in Italy (the one with sugar of course :D), it contains quite much of the lemon juice. Could you please make a video about your plans for this year? When will you explore other regions? How are you earning money now (I guess savings are over)? Don't you feel isolated from your friends/family? Just some update. Love your videos here and Global Expats 😘

Thats cool how they have you weigh produce and print out a barcode in italy. I work as a cashier in the states, and not having to enter in all the codes would be so nice.

You don't find lemonade because it's not very much appreciated. You find orange juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, but not lemon juice. Those who like lemonade just buy lemons and squeeze them, as they are very cheap.

This was fun shopping with you! Thanks for sharing. And... in the grocery store the liver was being sold with the "veil". It is a layer of fat which encases the liver, and the Italians love it wrapped around the liver and then they fry it. Makes it a little bit fattier, moister, and they think more flavourful! My husband loves it done this way. Ciao from Calabria!

Coop it's not cheap guys... For the pizza, you have tried the best frozen one in the market. Try it with leffe rossa or Leffe ambrata (beer). Enjoy our country!
