In my company we normally have at least one month supply based on our average sales. Starting tomorrow thanks to this heads up about a possible strike, we will double our inventory. That also means that if others don’t do that and they won’t in our business, we’ll charge confiscatory prices for the products that we have on hand when their customers come to us. There’s always some good in things that are bad. For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. What a great idea, done with the best of intentions, what could possibly go wrong?

Sure, higher wages for workers with great benefits all being paid for by corporate profits. Trying to secure jobs by slowing or banning technology is simply ridiculous. My Grandmother was an elevator operator in Portland, OR, in the 1950s and 1960s, and her job was replaced by technology as it should have been. Unless you are a true artisan or athlete, you can be replaced, and you *will* be replaced by technology someday. In a reality where money and profit are everything, humans become less and less important.
