I would add one more step, a fresh water flush in the direction that is backwards to the air flowing using a garden hose nozzle after the hot soapy water bath. Great video! Thank you!

Great video, what solvent and air filter oil do you use?

Another option that has worked well for me are the filter skins. I put them over a clean filter and throw them away after a 2-3 rides. They are cheap and I don’t notice a loss of power using them

i just have a bucket with strainer always left full of any good brand filter cleaner but i drop 3 in at a time. for 15 mins or over night
then off the the big laundry sink full of warm/hot water with laundry detergent where they soak again, then i just run each one under warm to hot water again to get the soap out and let em dry.

been doing that for 20 years.

glad its basicaly the same way you do it

hey i have a question. when i oil my air filter it doesnt become sticky or something. i use putoline air filter oil so it should be good right? i let my air filters dry for a couple of days and even on new air filters it wont become sticky but it just stays wet. do you know what could be the problem?

i cant find help on this anywhere. once the air filter is oiled, how long do you leave it out before you put it back in the bike ? does it take a couple hours to dry and then you put it in ? or can you put it in straight after youve massaged out the excess oil ?

Maxima FFT. Is blue. Not sure why Jay didn't name it, but i can almost guarantee thats Maxima. Goes a long ways and works well. Used it for about 17yrs on many different bikes.

What do you think of the No Toil stuff

I never oil it on the inside and ride in super dusty conditions in sand. When I replace the filter, it's squeaky clean on the inside.

Hard to beat the Maxima Pro Filter. More time doing productive things other then cleaning filters

Have read gasoline works too, is that a viable solvent or does it ruin them?

Holy crap you used a lot of cleaner. That UNI stuff stinks! I like the no toil for ease of cleaning and no odor

Just curious why do you oil the inside of the filter? Seems a bit much. Outside oiling is going to seep through to the inside anyway

Putting all that dirty water inside the air filter while cleaning 😮😮😮

Thanks, but I'll forgo all this nasty nonsense and keep using No-Toil.
