The International and Foreign Language Education (IFLE) Office of the U.S. Department of Education presents a grantee showcase webinar for the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (GPA) Program.
In this webinar, Lara Wasner from the University of Detroit Mercy shares her experience as project director of a Fiscal Year 2017 short-term Group Projects Abroad grant entitled, "African Contributions and Contemporary Issues in Northeast Brazil: A Curriculum Development Project Integrating Social Sciences and the Arts". The overarching goal of this GPA project was to provide a 4-week collaborative learning experience in Brazil providing participants multiple perspectives of the African-American experience through scholarly research and dialogue in Northeast Brazil in order to inform learning, build and enhance resources and internationalize curricula in meaningful and measurable ways.
