if we take chemistry's numerical section as an example, it usually consisted of the question patterns like "pick the compunds which exhibit resonance", "the elements which show inert pair effect"
and a thermodyanmics question with some lengthy calculations. Even though conceptually the thermo question might be very scoring, the lengthy calculations could be avoided by picking a question which didn't require such tedious calculations and same focus could be shifted on math/physics. Now the same thermo question becomes unavoidable.
A strong grip is a must on chapter to excel regardless, but the small minute details that change the whole approach to the paper with respect to constraints like time and efficiency becomes slightly problematic.

5 out of 10 is way better because of 2 reasons.

1) We can skip the lengthy numerical questions in which we can make silly mistakes
2) Its a confidence booster because if we dont know one question, we still have 9 questions from which we need to attempt 5

Some how this is beneficial, and in addition if paper is on bit harder side as it used to be, nothing is better than that . I belive that 99 border line should lie b/ 180-190 thats aproachable enough but these scores of 230-240 are danm high .

It doesn't really matter as if something change it changes for everyone and it can be observed in the results as well. I will just focus on doing whatever I was doing and next part test.

The thing which worries me is, what if they revert to the old syllabus saying Corona is over?
The pattern change doesn't affect me, as I am confident about my prep currently.

I prefer this format more, this way I don't have to decide which questions to choose and I have always given mocks of 75 questions with no optional questions, so it's perfect form me 😁
