RIP Patti Yasutake (Nurse Ogawa, 1953–2024)

"this isn't like Star Trek, everything's supposed to be happy at the end of the episode" So... when are you starting Deep Space 9?

Worf peeking around the corner at Troi is my favourite shot in all of TNG

In Parallels we are following one Worf. The other Worfs may also be presumably be jumping around.
Somewhere there's a very confused Riker dealing with an angry Worf who's telling him to stay away from his wife.

"Lower Decks" is the best Worf episode. There are plenty of episodes that show why he's a good warrior, but this is the only one that shows why he is a good commander of officers.

There's a universe where Cassie only watches horror movies and hates rom coms and Carly swears like a sailor.

The sight of Worf, the mighty warrior Klingon jumping off the bed with a little gasp of terror from Troi’s affection breaks me every time 😂😂

The fabric of space time is breaking down blending the entirety of the multiverse into a singular reality.
Cassie: "KISS!!"

"I wanted to make sure you got a fair chance to redeem yourself." I think that's one reason why so many people (including me) have so much respect for Picard.

'Lower Decks' essentially deconstructs the "redshirt" trope that even by this point was well-known and joked about. Ensign Sita is Next Gen's version of a "redshirt" (Security wears gold by this point) but here, instead of being a disposable character who dies purely as a plot-point, we see her whole self and so, as we should've done all along, we mourn her loss. Such a great episode.

I grew up in the 80s watching Star Trek next generation and Patrick Stewart's was so noble and honourable as Picard he was a huge role model in how the type of man I wanted to be

Lower decks is one of my favorite episodes.

Coincidentally it expands the conflict between Bajor and Cardasia which is the center piece of DS9, my favorite Trek series.

The incident at Starfleet Academy involving Ensign Sito is a direct callback to the 5th season episode "The First Duty". Wesley Crusher was also directly involved in the attempt to cover up what really went down.

Lower Decks ripped my guts out. In hindsight Cardassians are pretty devious, she might still be alive as a prisoner.

Lower Decks is the inspiration for a whole spin-off series.

Lower Decks is probably the biggest tear jerker of the series. Great episodes here!

In one of the alternate realities in “Parallels” Data has blue eyes. When he and Worf are in engineering talking about Geordi before going to sickbay.

The beauty of science fiction is that it uses normal situations to introduce outlandish theoretical ideas through relatable characters that we grow to love. The Cassie we first met years ago wouldn't have been interested in shifting between alternate versions of our lives. But thanks to Worf she was enthusiastically running through various possible alternate realities of her life. The core of scifi is to ask 'what if'.

I will miss these episode watches when they are done! <3
