since the war began russians that have been living abroad have had serious issues with finances. they have a very hard time moving money to and out of russia, and even large institutions have struggled with this. china actually was very cooperative with this policy. i had a russian friend here in china and she said that they had problems with this. russia is a major trade partner for china, but so are other countries, and it is becoming an increasing liability for them to keep doing business with russia even on a buisiness level. as that most banks in china are at least partially govt. -owned, the chinese government is worried that loans it would give through these banks to russian businesses even those oparating in china, will be unrecoverable .
