Topic Description:
An extension of the work with classifying, children will learn to compare objects and discern taller/shorter and longer/shorter.

Learning Targets:
I can tell which object is longer or shorter than another object.
I can tell which object is the longest or shortest in a group of objects
I can tell which object is taller or shorter than another object.
I can tell which object is the tallest or shortest in a group of objects.

Multi-link cubes for measuring
Objects to compare

Suggested Teaching Sequence:
1. When comparing, objects start at the same place.
2. Comparing for height (taller or shorter)
3. Comparing for length (longer or shorter)

Extension Activities:
Use Matholia games with varying levels, making sets of objects for comparison, setting comparison problems for other students.
