If you are creating a large document with lots of images and figures, make sure that you use 'Insert Caption' in Word rather than adding captions manually. When you use 'Insert Caption', you can reference your object anywhere in your document by inserting a cross-reference. More importantly, this means that you keep the figures and cross-references up to date in order to minimise any errors when adding and updating references manually. A lifesaver! This doesnt work for more complex captions that you need to do manualy, like Figure A.1.1 or other type
