Thanks David for the tips for the Svengali and mentioning other rns and lns type of decks like the pop eyed popper and mirage deck I would love to see more reviews like this!

Thanks David! I think it’s great that you remind us about these classics which we often ignore. I like that you mentioned the Pop-eyed Popper and Mirage decks. I always put another similar underrated deck in that category, the Mene Tekel deck. Technically, not a “forcing” deck but similar in its effect.

When I got my Svengali deck, for some reason I had 1 extra force card so I left it in the tuck case .Then after bringing their card to the top a couple of times instead of moving the card half an inch to the top of the deck I move it all the way over to the tuck case [which I asked the spwctator to hold for me at the start . Great video and thanks for the reminder I have a Mirage deck I haven't got to grips with yet !

I have purchased two of the Bicycle decks Murphys, and the problem is they are cut too short ( I have made up thousands in my early years). I recommend buying a one-way force deck and making up two decks with your own guillotine, just a tiny amount off.( if you hold two cards together, you should have to look very closely to spot the difference). Otherwise, your Dls will be obvious.

The Sven deck is my favourite. Has many flavours and performances. Thanks David for the tips. (David is the Billy Bob Thornton of Magic).

I always remember my first Svengali deck. It was a Fox deck! I got it years ago when I was a kid and used it a lot. It always was a hit!

I have "trilby deck". It is a stripper deck and svengali deck fusion. Not an easy deck, but it can make some miracle.

My normal edc when I'm going to be around ppl that don't know I'm into cards is a sven deck and a duplicate normal deck kept in stack. A good suggestion to anyone that frequently uses a sven deck but might be more fond of using non-standard decks is to learn how to make one. Usually requires the purchase of 26 duplicate decks if it's uncommon enough that magic stores won't make it themselves, but it's still worth it to get all the extra card boxes and parts to make a years worth of gimmicks. Just need to make sure the boarder is appropriate for sven decks (usually white boarder) as colored borders may show irregularities.

A timely video. I got my Mirage deck out today to entertain my GF's grandnieces and succeeded in baffling them, despite being a bit out of practice. A favourite trick of mine is to have a prediction in a himber wallet. At the end of the routine the force card vanished and is revealed in the wallet.

When using a Svengali I do like to try to find excuses to show indifferent cards. For example, after having the force card chosen "at random" two or three times, a random card is chosen. This then turns into the force card in the spectator's hand.

I still have my first Svengali deck which I got from Tannen's. Every now and then I'll bring it out, but I want to preserve it as long as I can. Eight of hearts will always be my special card.

I bought a miracle card case. My svegali deck came with a two faced bicycle playing card. I use the card case to make it look like the two faced card turned into their chosen card and go from there. Great effect.
