✏️ One of our Back to School traditions happens about a week before we actually start school!

✏️I tell the girls to go play in their room while I set out their school supplies.

✏️I then gather all of the curriculum and supplies that have been purchased and set them out at each child’s place at the table. Once I’ve set it out and prayed for each of them, I excitedly invite them to come take a look!

✏️We ooh and ahh over all of the wonderful things they’ll be learning that year and flip through their books together so they can get an idea of what they’ll be doing.

✏️As they continue to look through it all and organize their supplies, I tell them what our daily rhythm is going to look like for the fall. We talk about expectations and goals for the year.

✏️Then we pray together and they put all of their things away on their cart shelf!

This is a tradition my mom used to do with my siblings and I, and I’ve carried it over to my kids! They love getting to see their new things and I think it helps get them excited for school to start. I’ve also found it to be really helpful to explain expectations before school starts! This helps those tricky first couple of weeks of settling into a new routine, go a little bit smoother!
