TMBH 500 Subscriber Thank You Video

The Ten Minute Bible Hour's been up and running for two months so I thought it would be good to say thanks to everyone who's been watching and subscribing. It also seemed like a good idea to talk a little bit about what I'm going for and not going for with the show. Then after that I've got some opinion questions that I'd love feedback on.
This thing is fun to make and something I enjoy sharing with people who find it interesting.

Congrats Matt! God has a mssion for you and this is part of it. As Jesus said, "Go Do It!"
I like one a week but occasionally go back and watch a repeat.
It is the 10 minute Bible HOUR, so an occasional long one is expected and makes me smile. 😹
Notification is great because I never seem to know when they are posted! Thanks for asking.

Just discovered this channel, I really enjoy your videos. I think that it is refreshing to have someone talk to you, instead of talking at you.

I'm not on youtube much, so I like one video a week. Also for that reason, keep the notifications coming! I'm slightly more likely to check my email throughout the week than youtube. When there's a long passage, I prefer it to be in one longer video. We can always pause it and come back to it if we need, but it's more fluid if it's all in one video. I'm really enjoying this series! Thanks!

So glad I found your channel, Matt! :) It's been very cool to see it grow!
I, personally, really like the amount you post. It's nice to be able to choose some free time during my week to watch your videos without falling behind/missing episodes/etc. Some youtubers post 5+ a week and it can be a bit overwhelming!

First off, I'm so glad that I found "the origins' series since I finished Acts and all caught up on Luke...waiting for more, lol.
A Dagobah scene behind you? LOVE IT! Although it would be better if you had the actual Dagobah X-Wing, which I got for my 10th birthday (or somewhere close to that) which was grey with the swamp stickers on it :)

Luke Watne I don't know why you're the only one I can't respond directly to. It's weird.
I'm glad the occasional split episode works okay for you. They'll probably continue to be a part of the deal for the time being. This next episode will be a whopper - it's a special episode addressing the extra-biblical sources that corroborate the existence and life of Jesus as well as the early church. Sounds nerdy, but it'll be a lot of fun.
Thanks for the encouragement man.

Hey Matt! I think that 2 videos a week would be great. The notifications are helpful! I do like how you split longer videos up, for some people it goes well with their schedule, for me it adds an element of suspense, and I like that (even though I could just go read it, haha) I love what you are doing, keep it up! (Props to you for hitting 500 subs, thats pretty good for only being up for 2 months. )

It seems as though I discovered this channel 3 years too late but I thought I would let you know how I am using your videos. I am having problems joining a church thus limiting my fellowship with other believers because I live overseas and there is a language problem among other problems. I read the Bible and spend time in prayer daily but use the internet to hear sermons and Bible study. I am watching one of your videos almost once a day among other videos on a regular basis. The length of your videos are fine with me - if short then good if longer or split up still ok. I do not know how many times I have read the book of Acts and have formed my opinions and questions about it. I find that although you may not focus on issues that I expect but you do give me other ways to look at it. I appreciate that.

Dearest TMBH,
I enjoy the one a week...but would definately watch 2 a week.  That could run into a much larger time commitment and would hate to see things get backed up since this isn't an actual church or family which requires lots of time too.   Vote here to stay focused on one a week
If you subscribe to a channel on YouTube and don't like the are you subscribing to them??  keep the notifications love knowing when new content is up!
keep the fun coming the channel!

BACKGROUND THOUGH!!!  so amazing :)

1) I would absolutely love more than one a week. Its killing me having to wait so long :-) but obviously you have to have the time to make these videos so you should do as many as you can without it impacting on your everyday life :-D.
2) I don't mind how long the videos are. Obviously 10 or so mins will be ideal for a lot of busy people. Plus I think you can take more in if its only a small amount of info at a time.
That being said tho, I totally appreciate what you are doing and I'm so grateful for it. It is helping me out so much and I just want to thank you for that.
Take care

1) As a YouTube video connoisseur, I appreciate 1+ videos per week. I'd prefer 2 per week, however I don't pastor a church with real people, produce films for festivals (nor have I been asked to participate as an extra or support role in such projects), and I generally don't have 800 things on my agenda each week.

2) Notifications are fine. The videos pop up in my subscription box, so the notification is redundant. However, it's a negligible issue.

3) I enjoy the awkwardness that naturally occurs when you split a topic into 2 episodes, but having the full length feature makes the thought processes easier to track with and causes the applications/observations to be more easily digested.

Alright! 1. So far I am going through Acts and have yet to catch up to your ~1 video a week. When I do catch up (this is inevitable since I enjoy using this channel as my daily Bible study) 1 video a week will still be enough because I enjoy the level of thought and research put into each video, which is something that would be harder to do if you had to spit out more per week. I understand how huge of a time commitment producing one video/week is and thank you for it!
2. Notification thing? Maybe you turned it off already cuz I don't get 'em
3. Long passage or Break Point, I think the break point is a good thing. I always have to finish both video's even if there are break points, but the breakpoints don't bother me at all and they're useful for the people who like them.
P.S. Love this channel and am challenging my friends to use it to study the Bible for their daily devotionals
P.P.S I had to re-watch the beginning of this video because I stopped listening to you in awe of your fishtank. That is just the best.

Hey Matt. Crazy, huh?
You may know my daughter Jennifer @ church.
I have met you and your wife once.
She turned me on to you!
I look forward to visiting in June!

In terms of rate, I'd have to wait until I catch up with the acts series before I answer if it is currently too little. Meanwhile, ultra-high rates of video content that spam up my subscription box like you get on Tedx make me want to unsubscribe, but I don't think you're nearly at that level yet.

That said, you said at some point you're planning a luke series in parallel and ending at the same time which has 200 episodes. If you factor in another 200 episodes of acts and some more spilt episodes and more-to-think-about episodes, if you went back to weekly episodes instead of the ~two-per-week you have now, you're looking at about ten years to finish the series here. Considering that youtube has only been going for ten years, it isn't implausible that youtube would no longer exist before the series is scheduled to end.

Personally, I would prefer not to have notifications and just get episodes in my subscription box. I only get these notifications on my phone though.

I think the ten-ish minutes aspect is part of the series's character, I would prefer not to see that go. Also, longer videos can make me put off watching them for a while, even though I enjoy them when I actually get around to it; and watching a 30-minute video sandwiched between the 3-15 minute videos of my other channels feels a bit odd.

Having said that, the reason why breaks in your video's structure works is because you break down each verse or group of verses one at a time. If your video instead consisted of looking at the passage as a whole and picking bits out in a non-chronological order, the break might feel a bit more sudden so it might be wiser to do a full version.

Ok Matt, 1 per week is fine for me - I'm very time poor. Notification by email? yes plz, keep that coming. Long or short? - obviously, keep it short for me plz. My audience are  mainly young Hindus in India (plus Filipinos) who I am gently interacting with on Fb to intro them to our Creator/Saviour God. They are very receptive n respectful but its back to basics for these guys. The other 'ministry' I'm involved in is alerting Tweeters to sound biblical teaching, esp Christ's imminent return. Email me if u wish. Thanks bro.
