Relining a Loose Denture - Full Process

Nice results. Why not consider doing a second layer of impression by trimming the acrylic in the palate after the yellow initial impression and then doing a second lighter body reline to capture detail over the roof of mouth. You will be glad that you used a PVS adhesive on the denture surface so the impression material does not come off the denture when taking the extra layers of impressions. That way you get better fit of entire denture and not just over the ridges and the flange. Also, have you tried a functional impression instead of a static PVS impression? Tissues move when you talk and eat. A functioning mouth is not a static tissue mouth. A functional impression is a little slower but the fit is even better for the patient. Just some ideas I've learned from some prosthodontists over the years that I have practiced.

It is very important before taking impression to make sure all undercuts in flanges removed or you will break model when separating. And it is a good idea to remove a little of border flange and acrylic over ridge to make sure you get denture seated in original location and don’t open vertical or overextend flanges. Also if loose anterior ridge tissue difinitely remove acrylic so do not displace.

Fascinating.I only had my extractions done 38 days ago but I have been told I have healed really welland quickly. My surgeon saidon Aug 7th that the Dentist could start in amonth to six weeks. My Dentist had wanted me to wait until January next year. Unfortunately being lactose intolerant Iam really struggling with what I can eat at present. I am concerned as tohowmuch weight I will lose if Ihave to wait another five months.

Dentures are very expensive I’m thankful to god they look like my real teeth I had a gold put in the side and they are gorgeous, Westfield dentist in Houston does excellent dental work, my first set lasted 31 yrs no problems

Love your crown and bridge work, watching this video just had an observation of the two main reasons why this denture would be ill fitting would be the pronounced palatal tori and the postdam/palatal seal should be further posteriorly. With palatal tori would be wise to have a spacer surrounding it. Everything else was 👍
