Thank you to Aria Music Salon Yokohama for letting me use their grand piano.

Tango in D, Op. 165, No. 2, is a composition by Isaac Albéniz. It was originally written for piano, as part of the suite España, Op. 165 (1890).

Since it has been transcribed for classical guitar by Miguel Llobet, it has become one of the most important works of the classical guitar repertoire. It has been played and recorded by guitarists such as Julian Bream and John Williams and many others. A slow, romantic piece, it is played in the key of D major. Norman Lloyd says of the piece, "The most famous tango in concert music is Isaac Albeniz' little Tango in D." Carl Van Vechten has said, "The Tango in D is striking, and crosses some pretty stiles, despite its brevity."

It has also been arranged by Leopold Godowsky and others.

I have heard many versions of this song in record and in YouTube. This is in my opinion, the best, not only for the performance, but also for the sound, the recording. Congratulations.

Love how clear your melody is! I'm working to not have the pedal be so muddy and bringing the left hand softer.

I played this very badly, unlike yours which is lovely, with my mother when she was alive. To hear it now is very poignant. I was gardening and trying to whistle the tune but couldn't get to the sad bit at the end. Thanks. Wherever she is she will be smiling. Xxx

Perfect performance. I’m imagining a man and a woman dancing the Tango.

Amazing playing. The chord at 1.34 (and the whole phrase actually) is so great, so unexpected and yet perfect.

This is not a Argentinian tango but a flamenco tango from Cadiz. This style exist before the Argentinian style!

Been learning this piece for a bit now. Very fun to play. This has been my go to video for how to absolutely nail it though, you play with such emotion.

So beautiful. Hearing it in a new and better way, a great improvement over my sorry rendition. Yet it's a piece I keep coming back to.
