The trick to gaining extra time during the damage phase (I do it in the 2nd phase here) is to leave one Standard behind in the nightmare, and pick it up after you clear the first room of Visions. This way another Standard Bearer will spawn and you can kill him as you are clearing the second room of Visions, giving you an extra 15 seconds.

Be careful, do not do this in the 1st phase unless you plan on 1 phasing him, it has a chance of soft locking the encounter. And if you are struggling to do it in 2 phases, leave this trick for the 3rd phase.

I always forget that things like Tractor, Volitile rounds and sword attacks will shove ghalran around. Makes me wonder if you can 1phase Gahlran by shoving him up into a corner using Retrofit Escapade shoving.
