I love that you know your "Love" history. One of the most underrated bands in the music world. Thank you for this video. The world needs to know about Arthur Lee and LOVE!!!

Grew up in that era although unaware of Bido Lito's but remember hearing "Stephanie Knows Who" on the radio. I've always wondered do the times make the people or the people make the times.

Saw Love there in the 60's (fabulous!)... my father saw Lenny Bruce there (when it was called Cosmo Alley)... and the Mothers played there as well.

Just stumbled across this old vlog, thanks for doing this one! The Doors pretty much idolized Arthur Lee and Love and that’s saying a lot! Forever Changes still stands as one of the greatest and most influential albums ever made, they had some other great stuff too but that one is in rare air :) “Signed DC” was allegedly written about the original drummer.

Lots of history in Cosmos alley. My buddies Mike & Rusty played with Arthur & Johnny from 1993 til 2019. Arthur, was a legend in Europe. Should have been one here.

I was there at Bido Lito’s and meet Arthur Lee and Love. I dated Arthur for a while. Gorgeous, talented man. Unfortunately he was already heavy into psychedelics.

I lived near Frankln and cahuega and walked into the place and tripped out while Don hit the drums for hours in practice. I went to school with him and went the same wsy he did with drug, sad life that he ended up liviving, he was the best drummer ever

The Grass Roots began as a side project of Steve Barri and PF Sloan, staff songwriters for Dunhill Records. The pair recorded a dynamite version of Dylan's Ballad of a Thin Man, then had a hit with the song Where Were You When I Needed You. They needed a band to tour behind the record, hired a group out of the Bay area, to become The Grass Roots. That group didn't work out, so they put together a new group, who went on to rack up an impressive list of singles. I was there, 1966, 1967, and 1969, saw Love, the Doors, the Grass Roots, Buffalo Springfield, among many others. Arthur Lee deserved much more respect than he got, Forever Changes still a very listenable album. It was one of the 1967 classics.

Saw Love with The Doors Tribute band Wild Child at The Whiskey on 7/3/93. Became my final night on The Strip. Quake in Jan 94 altered my world an threw me 400 miles east
