I saw this when I was 8 and always thought it was a fever dream. I had to add ‘anime where girls have to lay eggs to have a tea party’ to my search history today to find this. This is.. such a weird piece of what I hesitate to call art. I think it permanently left an impression on what I thought was sexual as a child.

I've changed my mind, after 6 years of growing up I now genuinely think this is pretty hilarious. I could see myself watching more for the absurdity of it.

Why is this not a full anime? 5 minutes is not enough to communicate the broad range of concepts and ideas that the creators were trying to convey through their expert usage of such controversial subject matter. In saying that, it does manage to communicate several fundamental and key concepts, but I really wish that the creators were given the space they deserve to expand on the unique and equally intriguing views shown in regard to puberty. Tenshi No Drop seems to only scratch the surface, leaving us only being able to guess at the profound pieces of wisdom the creators left untold.

While some might contort that Tenshi No Drop conveys an overly cynical and one-sided view on its subject matter, I hold that many-a-show have approached the same subject matter in an overly idealistic manner, not daring to encroach on the darker aspects that may be better left untold. Tenshi No Drop bravely confronts and deals with these unspoken issues, which I believe was very much the creator's intention. Any less than that would end up completely invalidating the creator's original vision, forcing this contemporary masterpiece down into the gutter with all of the other safe and subsequently unmemorable titles. The cynicism inherent in this masterwork is a frankly brilliant representation of the teenager's perspective in the messy, confusing and downright manic ordeal that is puberty.

Tenshi No Drop is certainly not for everyone, and its content may prove too intimate, too painful for some, but those who are willing to dedicate 5 minutes of their time to this work may save themselves 5 years of pain and suffering. This modern work-of-art provides invaluable, immeasurable insight into the troubled lives of teenagers currently going through the transitional stages now, serving as both a didactic piece and a heart-wrenching tale of loss of innocence. It is most unfortunate that the creators were not provided a canvas worthy of their talent and creativity, but even despite this debilitating limitation, Tenshi No Drop manages to be both a compelling and insightful media piece, particularly in regard to its societal implications.

So, if you have 5 minutes, why not Tenshi No Drop?
