Please note: the third pillar is not a "pension insurance", but rather a privat but access-restricted tax-benefit savings account. You can pay in as much as you like, but a maximum of a few thousand Francs per year (the same amount for EVERY resident in Switzerland) is fully tax deductible from your annual income tax filing. This accumulated "3rd pillar" account can then be used after retriement and the payout will again be reduced versus the normal income tax rates. These 3rd pillar accounts are a huge stimulus to private savings and are actually financially a no-brainer for almost every resident.
