Only read IF you are serious about finding your career… ⤵️

First be reassured that you are not alone in having this fear. The truth of the matter is nobody knows what they want to do for the rest of their lives at the age of 17.

This is the exact time of your life where you will be introduced to new experiences and you WILL develop new interests.

Therefore, stop setting unrealistic expectations for the major you choose and just understand you will naturally want to do other things. ✅

There is no perfect answer to which major is right for you, but just know this…

Whichever major you choose, it is UP TO YOU to create opportunities for yourself so that you are never stuck on one path. 👏🏼

You do this by developing high value skills on the side that can be leveraged for other opportunities in the future.

How?

1. Learn how to learn. Your schooling is still the number one priority since you are most likely to go down that career path, but do it as efficiently as possible with a proper study system (i.e. understand which techniques you are using and why you are using them). 🧠

2. Find your high value skill(s) and consistently develop it each year you are in school. Allocating a few hours per week is more than manageable if you study more efficiently! ⏰

3. Secure internships for your major to identify your likes and dislikes with that position. Can you see yourself doing that job permanently?

4. Try to monetize your skill as a service to see if it actually provides value to clients / employers. Can you see yourself doing that job permanently?

At the very least, you will now have both a degree + additional high value skills that can be leveraged for even other opportunities upon graduation :)

Truth! I'm working on degree #2 and am doing a double major because I fear one or the other is wrong.

One of my biggest fears is failure since I’m a perfectionist. But I’ve learnt to use that to my advantage because it can sometimes fuel my motivation when I feel less determined. Turn your weakness into a strength ♥️

That use to be mine too. For the longest time it held me back from going to college. I'm 32 now and my second time going to college. I'm now in cybersecurity. Good luck and thanks for your videos!❤

My biggest fear is, , i changed ky mindset since last year s July or so, , i decided that i would stop cheating and start revising/doing all my homeworks/actually following classes/start wearing my glasses so i could follow class better to make an academic comeback and i am doing it. But i realised that i am doing all that to get good grades which will hopefully results in a good job which pays really well, , which is for future me and for my future kids/family, but for my present family who loves me soo much especially my parents bcuz they r old and it is more likely they die bfore my success, they wont benefit from me, as of right now, i never used to help my mom inthe kitchen bcuz i do school work whole day..so i fear im doing all this for my future kids who i dont even know as of now and dont know how they will turn iut bcuz most teens hate their parents where my parents who love me so much, i cant do nothing for them

Soo...i left medical field even tho it was my biggest dream to become a doctor just because my family dont believe in me..and gradually i thought they are right and took law as my major...after 6 months i was becoming more and more dipressed and i even started watching surgeries to make me happy while doing law assignments..and even started reading medical books during my law lecture...day by day i started becoming a mess...i didn't get into a med school but i took the risk and went to abroad for my mbbs and trust be the work is hectic but i enjoy doing it..never give up on your dreams just because someone said you cant do it

This was me. I actually chose the wrong course. I thought it would be fun from the titles and the career as a whole until i saw the work you actually do and it was things that would eventually get in the way of my personal life so im here again but really lost
