But I really like how high pitched the rev up gets when you mash.

On a genesis controller this is super fluid as the 3 buttons are big and have a good layout for your thumb to press all three at once

I remember watching Sonic speedruns and wondering how they were revving up so quickly, but I realized on my own while playing Sonic Superstars that I remembered that there’s multiple jump buttons and they can be used for the spin dash.

I learned this watching speedruns. The tripple mash is feels so good to do.

I use an xbox 360 controller so pressing three buttons is very hard, so i use press 2 buttons 3 times and it does the trick. These shorts are great, i'm glad people who don't have the patience to watch your longer analisyses can learn how to play Sonic better!

After I learned this from one of your earlier vids it’s become second nature to me lol. Are you doing more shorts like this?

Tips and tricks for classic sonic games or more games in general would be welcomed to see from this channel

The "pressing three buttons in a sequence" trick only really works well on an original Sega Genesis controller. I hear it called the "Piano Roll". It's easier on the Genesis controller because the buttons are bigger and in a row. Every modern controller these days has the Super Nintendo "diamond shaped" layout for the face buttons.

A Tips & Tricks Tutorial for newbies might perform well! The general gaming audience gets hung up on minor things that are easy to fix. For instance: for those running into enemies and losing rings over and over, simply rolling when you’ve gained speed will enable you to blow through upcoming enemies.

I already knew this, but I mash the button for fun and it makes me feel faster

Probably good to mention that you need to release the down button very quickly after the 6th button press. The classic games (excluding original CD) have a Spindash Charge Decay rate which begins on the frame you let for of the button. If you absolutely want the maximum amount of spindash you gotta release the down button asap.

But that's only if you want the absolute maximum out of it.

I never even knew there was a max speed to the spin dash. I just spammed the button cuz I thought it was fun to hear the sound.

I saw a speed runner doing that and now I do it normally

I’ve always just mashed A two or three times and it does the job

In my eyes that's a sign of great game design (specifically game feel). Everyone on the planet does something so unnecessary just because it feels good to do
