Loved this tutorial, thank you so much, I am going to rewatch it again and again. Here is my essay:

Smacking is a common method used by parents to discipline children in various cultures. These parents believe that smacking is the most effective approach for managing children. This essay will argue why it is completely wrong and dangerous.

Some parents resort to smacking as the sole method of controlling children’s behavior. Their motivation stems from two primary reasons: firstly, parents believe that smacking disciplines their children immediately, moreover when children are physically hurt, they are not likely to repeat the same mistake in the future. Research suggests that parents are naturally protective of their children, if slapping helps their child to grow into a better person, they may not hesitate to consider this option. This clarifies why some parents regard smacking as the best method for dealing with unruly children.

Despite the immediate positive outcomes of physical abuse, the practice of smacking is a completely inappropriate and unhealthy way of managing children in the long run. Strict parenting style has only adversely affected children’s mental health. Due to physical abuse, children have been distancing themselves from their parents. Indeed, this is the reason why these days many children indulge themselves in drugs and build wrong relationships. Recent research has shown the increased suicide rate among young children due to wrong parenting style. Therefore, I stand completely against any form of physical abuse against children.

In conclusion, this essay argued that parents who use smacking to discipline their children have a poor understanding of children’s psychology and underestimate the negative effects of physical abuse. In my opinion, no matter how badly a child behaves, parents should not hurt them physically and instead address the situation with thoughtful consideration. (260 words)

Discipline is one of the crucial parts of raising a child, and there are various ways of going about it.
Some people believe that corporal punishment, or smacking, is the ideal form of discipline. This essay will argue that smacking children is a completely unnecessary way to discipline children, despite any potential benefits to this method.

Discipline is something that should be taught to someone ever since they were young. Many people believe that physical punishment is the best way to instil discipline into children, such as smacking them. This essay will argue that smacking children is not the best way to enforce discipline upon them and there are other options available.

Raising children is a difficult task, and parents opt to using physical punishment, such as smacking, to control them when they are misbehaving or having tantrums. For generations, parents have been using physical punishment as a form of discipline, and some parents are only familiar with that one method as they were raised with those type of consequences in their household. Some parents also believe that by using corporal punishments is the best way to educate children. For example, parents can easily stop their child’s uncontrollable behaviour such as saying a bad word in just a few seconds. This quick and brief way of portraying consequences to children make parents believe that physical punishment is the best choice discipline them.

I believe that this traditional way of discipline is unnecessary in our modern time. Studies show that children who were raised with the normalisation of physical punishment will grow up and develop serious mental illness such as depression. Children should be raised in an environment where making mistakes is not a bad thing, instead it is a learning process. For example, parents can opt using other methods such as time out, talking with their child or taking away something they enjoy doing such as their video games. Using violence to discipline children is dangerous in itself and could lead to far worse outcome for society.

In conclusion, there are many methods parents can use to discipline their child. I definitely believe that a softer approach in disciplining children will positively affect the child’s development. Children are also human and we should be respectful of their feelings.

Dear Jay, you are one of the best teachers I've met in my life! Feel blessed....
I would be grateful if someone here can review the beginning of my essay which I did following the instructions from the video. I thank you in advance....

Discipline in relation to children has been a controversial topic for discussion since time immemorial. Some people believe that physical punishment is a wise choice when it comes to children's discipline. This essay will argue why smacking is completely inappropriate way to treat children when they misbehave.

Some parents think that applying physical power is a very effective way to control children. They find it necessary to use when children do not understand commands expressed orally or behave in a very violent manner. Moreover, adults may consider smacking as a means to inhibiting deeper understanding of appropriate behaviour into their children's minds. For instance, when a child misbehaves and initiates bullying, it seems wise to apply smacking in order to show him how unpleasant and painful the exercise of physical power towards others can be.

Although smacking may seem beneficial to some parents, disadvantages of such form of discipline greatly outweigh the advantages. Smacking children may lead to serious repercussions such as deterioration of their psychological state. It has been reported that 30% out of all children smacked suffer from severe mental diseases lately. Parents who have beaten their children for the sake of better code of conduct condemn that they need to manage serious health problems their children face afterwards. Moreover, applying physical power to children is highly likely to cause unfriendly home environment, deteriorate family relationships, and negatively influence children who become more aggressive and violent in a response to such form of punishment as smacking. Therefore, parents should avoid smacking and regard it as very dangerous and cruel method to shape children's behaviour.

This essay argued that physical punishment of children is inappropriate way of controlling their behaviour. It seems reasonable that parents who smack their children must consider the drawbacks such practice implies, and need to change their methods accordingly. In my opinion, ceasing to use smacking is an absolute imperative and, definitely, a wrong way to treat misbehaving children.
