Honda CG125 - Motorcycle Review

Honda sold ten million of these bikes worldwide.

It was produced between 1976 and 2008. This machine is an early
example.
The model was originally manufactured in Japan, but production moved to
Brazil in 1985, where this machine was made.

The CG125 is powered by a 124 cc (7.6 cu in) four-stroke, overhead
valve, single-cylinder engine that was hardly changed over the years.
It it is an easy bike to control and operate.

Some dismiss it as grey porridge but it’s all a matter of expectation –
mindset even. You can have a lot of fun with a bike like this.

One of the most underrated little bikes ever. No firecracker but always fired up. They got you to work and home year in year out. Fabulous memories. Thank you Honda ❤

The Honda CG 125 is still the best selling motercyle in my home country of Pakistan. It's considered as a manly bold macho bike. It's still manufactured there but it's not Japanese, it's Chinese. The engine and spare parts are imported form china and are assembled in Pakistan. The company Zongshen and Lifan supply honda with the parts. And are as god in quality as the Japanese. There is even a CG125 special edition model with
Self start / kick
Larger batter with larger chrome battery and tool cover.
Larger rear drum brakes
Fatter rear tyre
Smaller wire spoked rear wheels which adds stiffness to the wheel.

And its a very beautiful motercyle with black tank and chrome battery covers with the Honda emblem and 2 strips of parallel lines which starts form the tank and travels till the battery cover. It's a very elegant look.

Because it's an OHV there are vibrations and complain back pain cuz of the vibrations when riding for a long periods of time.

I had one 1985 being 16 years old, now having a Bandit 1250 but still feel attached to CG 125. Fantastic fun and best memories still alive from it.

in the Philippines, that bike is mainly used for Commercial Sidecar use
which is used for transportation of 5-7 person, rice bags 400kg, or even logs

it's really really reliable even if you abuse it ..it will always start and go
but it has a 155cc OHV engine 4 speed tranny and a larger rear sprocket for more torque

it's renamed Honda TMX 155 in the 80's but back in the 70's it's a Honda CG 125

Just bought one two days ago just after watching your video. She’s a 1987 Brazil made black beauty that needs a bit of love and some small electrical fixes. Still on factory tires and not ridden since 1997. Looks really cute beside her bigger sister NC750X in my garage.

Mind that cowpat John! If only all we had to worry about was a cowpat in the road! What a great video, I grew up in the 70's, never had a CG myself but a few mates did, I had a couple of XL100s. Life was so much simpler then and so were the bikes, I'd love to have one now and do a long backroads tour on it...

Honestly i'm thinking about purchasing one. They are really cheap and Honda is known to be very reliable for cars and bikes.

By far the most customizable bike ever made easy to convert into a cafe racer, brat, scram, or even electric if you need something lightweight

Mr Hadden, your passion and honest enthusiasm caught the attention of a user of Imgur - a global social networking platform. Great to be here, and thanks to the Imgurian who took time to notice... :)

Thanks for sharing this. Many cheap bikes in my country are based on this Honda model but have little reviews. Your video did a great job discussing the benefits.
