India signed a multi-billion dollar deal with Russia for its famed S-400 missile defence system – a move which ruffled feathers with the U.S. and instilled fear in India’s hostile neighbours.

But Recently, reports surfaced claiming that the S-400 deliveries have been delayed and they won’t be reaching India as scheduled...

Will this hamper India’s defence prowess or does India already have something up its sleeve, which the world is not aware of...

When it comes to defence of the country, India cannot depend on any outside, foreign country, be it, USA or Russia.
Self-reliance is the way to go.

As, a defence enthusiast to People who are saying India is going to develop an s 400 type system through reverse engineering!!! For, their kind knowledge nothing this will happen India has already developed highly effective medium and Long range air & surface to air defence missiles like Astra, astra mk 2, QRsam, VRsam, Akash and Barak 8 etc. and now the DRDO just trying to combine & integrate these into a vertical launcher assigned with a very long range home made radar system and navic navigation !!!!

Some Additional Info : India Does have Indigenous Air Defenses. The main ones being PAD (Prithvi Air Defense) and AAD (Advanced Air Defense). Both are Under the BMD program.

Prithvi AD has been Tested against a Modified Prithvi missile replicating the trajectory of a hypersonic missile, so it is Proven.

Prithvi is used for High Altitude Threats around 80km.
Whereas AAD is used for lower altitude threats. It has 2 variants AD-1 & AD-2.

There are some very short range systems like QRSAM and Akash too!

India needs to invest more in R&D to protect the Country.

Yes I do agree that India should be fully self- reliant in it's defence capability.

As an Indian Origin English person, i would love and wish India successful in creating its own version of S-400. Question will be as good as Russian is.Its not easy at all and i will be surprised if India dos this.
