Everything you need to know to play the Board Game Clank! In! Space!

NOTE/Correction:
This was a demo copy of the game so when I explain factions I say that you have to play a faction card before one that you want to execute the faction text. That is how the rules were when I made the video but they changed it later. You only need to play 2 of the same faction on a turn to execute any faction text when you want. Which is nice they made it a little more free.

I rented Clank! In! Space! from The Game Chest located in Mission Viejo CA. Check out their facebook page. They're a family store with educational products and games for kids of all ages and a great selection of today's games. They run many a game night and game events. Pokemon, Yu Gi O, D&D, Warhammer and after school programs.

The playing order doesn't matter to trigger faction effects.

I'm waiting on the productivity train to come along so that I can board it (I'm at work, it's too early and I don't feel like working atm :P) so I'm going around YouTube watching stuff about games I already have and play, hence my comment on an old video :) Anyway, Clank In Space is one of our favourite games and we already have both expansions. It's also my first deck builder and I must say I like the freedom it gives with regards to playing the cards you drew. A few hard set rules aside, you can pretty much play the cards in any order you'd like to reap the maximum benefit. :) We realised it's also a very fun party game (at least for parties we like to throw, meaning, another couple to play with, snacks on the table and that's that :P), it's easy to teach, everyone's having a good laugh at the scifi references... :) Have you got the Cyber Station 11 in the meantime? I just LOVE the addition of CEO escape pods up there in the command module, it can help with that bitter taste of dying halfway back through the ship.

In any case, I hope they'll produce more expansions (I can't believe I'm saying that) but it would be fun if they could come up with a new mechanic maybe (maybe some options to interact with other players on the board directly, or a co-op mode or something...)... Personally I'd like to see a multi level board where you have to climb through the ship or station to do certain stuff, e.g. one player must be on level 0 and press X while the other is on level 1 and holds Y open while player 3 is on level 2 (I know, I'm overdoing it :P) grabs something... And then the clock starts ticking and you should escape... That could be a co-op version, or if you wish, a hidden traitor version where someone actually stabs you in the back and runs away with the artifact. Okay, multi level board is a bit of an overkill, I agree, and probably a production nightmare, but it would be cool to see and play :D

Just a friendly heads up. In the rules it states that faction cards can be triggered by cards played before or after the one you want to use.

I find the endgame quite interesting.
On one hand, it has the monopoly-esque player elimination. But the game makes up for it by allowing a knocked out player to make attacks, which really speeds up the game

I've played this a few times on Tabletop Simmulator.
It's a very fun game :)
