This video teaches students how to copy a line segment. In particular, this video will show students how to use a compass and straightedge to copy a line segment.

This video is appropriate for a student taking a course in Geometry. In particular, students preparing for the NY Geometry Regents or Common Core Geometry Exam should find this video helpful.

Here are some of the materials I use to make my videos:

Outside of this computer software, this is my favorite type of compass to use:

What if the length of the line segment was longer than how much the compass could extend?

Dang I mean I already thought accumulated electromagnetism Make sense as an example for the theory of everything It would unify gravity with The other 2 that we thought were 2 things but were really one

The original Greek compass would collapse, that is, change the distance between the points, whenever you picked up one of the points. You could not use a Greek compass to transfer a measurement in the way you were doing. How would you use strait-edge and Greek compass to copy a line segment? It is possible!

Like potentially we could just be a tiny piece of something much larger And just be so small we can't tell

What if you were thinking in the idea of physics and you calculated the center of the line with a continuous line never stopped and you put a new one at every middle Like what would that be as a calculation Like what is the center of everything is the center of everything and it also is everything almost like the word continue it pretty much balls down to 1or more precisely what we perceive as 0 is really infinity Like everything the universe we can prove exists

Vice versa everything that's so small could be so goddamn small there's a whole other plane of existence on there and we can't see it or maybe we can't do that Who knows
