Available as they are just so overpriced to start with amongst other reasons and Im an ex ocean owner. I have settled for a Ducato 8 based van for 20k less but its not available yet I wonder why. I realise its a Fiat build not a VW but the experience of owners suggests these GC, s are pretty unreliable also the layout isnt for me. None of this is a criticism of your goodselves of course and maybe someone will benefit. Thankyou

I disagree with your opening comment. They are definitely not hard to come by. Just over priced in the second hand market due to the obvious.
In terms of a bargain, a saving of a few thousand pound on an £87k van is that really a bargain? More a saving on some added extras.
I’m currently in the market for and looking at these Grand Californias as a potential option. I am torn between a couple of options. Buying these new, it is a buyers market loads to chose from and it’s coming to the end of the dealerships financial year. So prime time to buy one at a “bargain price”.

I do think all motorhomes are overpriced since 2019 but VW are the worst although very well

Had an itch for one of these so rather than make a reckless purchase I hired one last summer for a weeks trip to Charmouth. Hired from Southampton Campers VW Camper Hire for what it’s worth - they seem am excellent company. Set off with wife, two daughters and small dog (Full disclosure we have owned motorhomes and camper vans in the past). Have to say the grand California was a massive disappointment - poor design, relatively poor quality fit and finish, totally impractical bathroom. Upper bed too small in real terms for our two small ten year olds, accessing anything from the garage a real pain in the backside from within the van. One week and several injuries later (cut fingers, banged heads, bruised shins) I was glad to return the vehicle but grateful for the experience. While this van may work for you I sincerely recommend trying it before you buy it.

Pour ceux qui regardent ces vidéos avant de se décider à acheter un Grand California, il faut savoir que ce véhicule présente de très nombreux problèmes qui le rendent inutilisable.
Les premiers acheteurs comme moi en font les frais!
N’hésitez pas à lire les principaux forums allemands et anglais d’utilisateurs de Grand California, et vous verrez que nous sommes très très nombreux à être extrêmement déçus par le produit, et surtout très déçus par le silence du groupe VW face à ses problèmes inacceptables! Personnellement, je me retrouve depuis plus d’un an avec un véhicule que je ne peux absolument pas utiliser, bourré de problèmes en tout genre, qui vont des problèmes électroniques (certainement des problèmes logiciels, de programmation des différents calculateurs) aux problèmes matériels (impossibilité d’utiliser le sytème d’eau normalement dans le véhicule, le chauffage ou le réfrigérateur). Il y a eu également des problèmes d’infiltration d’eau depuis le toit. Le véhicule est bien évidemment sous garantie puisqu’il a même pas 10 000km, mais malgré 8 mois complets passés dans les ateliers VW, le véhicule n’est toujours pas fonctionnel! VW France, ne veut pas reconnaître officiellement le probable et n’envisage pas le remplacement du véhicule malgré ma demande, et m’a restitué un véhicule qui ne fonctionne pas! Donc, si vous cherchez à dépenser 90 000€ pour un presse papier géant et inutile qui décorera votre parking, foncez! Sinon, regardez plutôt ce que fait la concurrence pour 15/20000€ de moins en achetant un véhicule plus fiable, plus abouti, et certainement une bien meilleure gestion du SAV!

Great video as always guys, VW prices are ridiculous and the 3 vans look hideous. I sold my beautiful Ocean last summer as we couldn't use it the way we had hoped due to Covid (spontaneity, wild camping due to worry about locals and extensive travels in Europe) I have wanted to get back in to a van ever since and regretted selling our Cali immediately but having looked at what is available elsewhere we have moved away from VW placing an order for a van conversion based on the new Ducato series 8 which is over 30K less than the discounted prices from Breeze, so now the wait begins but this van gives us everything the Grand would and more including oven & grill I can't imagine ever going back to a VW now but time will tell. I am obsessed with Campervans at the moment but they are so damn expensive, for a nice VW Transporter or Ford Transit Custom you are looking at least £50, 000 minimum !! These VW Grand California 600’s seem to be pretty rare as there’s not many available for sale on Autotrader but again they are so expensive and tbh I think they are the nicest looking vans with that hump on the roof…..the Grand California 680 is much nicer

Thanks for the new vlog! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have something planned for New Year. Love these 600s in Indium Grey (but we would say that 🤣). Have seen quite a few now and think this is best colour for the 600. I just wouldn't be able to choose between a 600 and a 680 though. 680 looks better (to us) but a 600 much more practical in car parks / spaces etc. Choices choices! We then get back in our Cali and love it again for how compact it is 👍 Take care and stay safe 😁

Wish there was an oven for the u.k. market, makes it a no go for me if i’m honest, must be a nightmare to just have to cook every meal in a pan, otherwise love the van.
