It’s crazy to think Tana is only 25. Love her or hate her, she’s had a crazy interesting life and done so much already

Tana is very articulate. Really great to hear her being spoken to on a one-on-one basis.

I loved that she could comfortably talk about/defend Shane and the Paul brothers while still being unbiased about their controversies

I relate a lot to what she just said. I escaped to youtube all the time as a child. All and I literally mean ALL of the youtubers I watched as a kid were canceled due to inappropriate allegations. The videos where the only thing constant and gave me true joy. It changes how you view people when the person you looked up to as a child turns out to be evil.

I agree with Tana. The thing about cancel culture is that it's very selective. People still eat chocolate knowing that it's produced by child labor. People still go to Starbucks & shop on Amazon despite the union busting CEOs. I think cancel culture is an interesting topic because it reflects broader societal trends and power dynamics, including the growing influence of social media and the ways in which different forms of media are consumed and evaluated by audiences

His old vlogs were my comfort when my grandma died in middle school. It's cool to see someone the same age as me who felt the same

Why weren’t the fine brothers cancelled they should be getting just as much heat. Not defending Shane at all but they voiced that puppet they took part in the stuff with the puppet.

Her convention meltdown really did a lot to mellow her out.

I really like this girl’s mind. I can truly relate to her adolescent experience.

As a kid you don’t really realize how fucked Shane and other YouTubers were to normalize so many awful things. As a adult I can’t still accept how it was allowed on YouTube, and how many YouTubers got away with just plain racism. 😐

I couldn't make it through the video at all. I mean seriously... No kinetic sand? No subway surfer??

It’s so refreshing hearing her speak like this

So he saved her life but when he got cancelled she dropped him? She should be cancelled for tanacon yet he gave her support and a platform 🤷🏼‍♀️

this times 100. it was so hard when he got cancelled bc for the longest time he was all i had. bad day at school? shane dawson video would fix it. chaotic fight at home? shane dawson video. it’s important to acknowledge the wrong but you can still miss the things were

Honestly I don’t watch Shane anymore because of Ryland. He makes me uncomfortable. I also don’t watch because of his falling out with Garrett. Garrett, to me, was 75% of the appeal of Shane videos. He’s very funny in a wholesome way, but it felt like an off beat Dan and Phil dynamic between them? Like, it was almost there but there wasn’t that level of friendship to justify the sarcasm coming from Shane to Garrett. I do still appreciate the conspiracy and haunted place videos though, those got me through a big wave of depression.

Yall gotta stop falling in love with people on the internet you do not know. He entertained her when she was a kid but that did not save Tana. Tana saved Tana. She went on to meet and know Shane, attempted to objectify a child [her] for views. Like reconnect with reality. Seriously.

I used to love Shane growing up and didn’t fully understand half of the things he was doing (which is why, like Colleen, he got cancelled when we grew up). It was hard for me too and I didn’t even know him. She said it well, “you live long enough to see your heroes become the villains.”

She seems so different here. Very real.

But she’s 17 or 18 when Shane got her to piss on him

I agree with her. My home life was shit and I remember having horrible days at school and looking forward to watching his videos and that’s what kept me going. But I look back at it now and realize so much of it was in appropriate for someone of that age so it’s sad
