FENDER TELECASTER - 30 Second Guitar History

Показать описание
The Fender Telecaster was the first mass production solid body electric guitar with a bolt on neck. Prototyped in 1948, the guitar was heavily influenced by lap steel guitars of the time. Originally named the Broadcaster, it eventually became the Telecaster to capitalize on the 50’s television craze (after a bit of legal trouble with Gretsch). It offered adjustable pickup heights and bridge saddles and was the first guitar to be made available in custom colors. Guitars were originally sold for around $150 or about $1800 today.

It's almost a miracle..imagine owning a car from 1952 that performs as good or better in every way than a car right now or maybe ever

Actually, the Fender Esquire was produced and sold before the Telecaster.

Broadcaster was a drum set from gretsch and they were gonna sue fender if they didnt change the name. Leo capitilized the television craze as a result of the lawsuit
