Turkey has no right to talk about "violated" freedoms of the Muslim minority in Greece. The following news are reflecting the truth on this subject: " The EU deeply regrets past discriminatory policies implemented by Turkey, which resulted in the Greek minority currently being on the verge of extinction, ” Eamon Gilmore told the assembly on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities.

“In this context, the EU reiterates the call on Turkey to protect human rights, fundamental freedoms and the rule of law, including property rights of persons belonging to minorities and minorities’ legal entities, ” he added.

I think its only fair to treat them with tha same respect that turks treated the christian minority in Constantinople in 1955.

*You are shameless!* Turkey eradicated the Greek community of Istanbul and speaks about the minorities' rights of Thrace? In an EU country? All those who create this video in TRT can they utter something about sultan Erdogan?

The minority in western Thrace can only be called Muslim and not Turkish because it consists of three different groups and only one of them are Turks.Calling all of the Muslims as Turks is a long-term mistake and it will lead to the completion of the Turkification of these populations, which started decades ago!It will lead to a "genocide"of the non Turkish groups as Pomaks! This updated is just a trick, to help Erdogan achieve his goals, and these goals include violence and war in the regions Turkey wants to occupy, just like it did in Cyprus!

If a person calls himself a Turk then nobody has the right to tell him that he's not a Turk. I The Turks in Thrace speak Greek like everybody else, they have been living there for centuries and them wanting the recognition of their ethnic identity is not a threat to Greece. It is really sad to see Greeks trying to justify the violation of the minority rights of the ethnic Turks.

Just like all the other members of the EU, Greece has to abide by EU law. EU law protects the rights of ethnic and religious minorities. Look for instance at Articles 2 and 7 TEU, Directive 2000/43/EC, Council Directive 2000/78, Article 21(1) and 22 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU. The Turkish minority brought cases before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The ECtHR passed 3 judgements that the ban on the Turkish Muslim Minority NGOs bearing the adjectives “Turkish/Minority” in their titles is discriminatory and in contradiction with the freedom of association of the European Convention on Human Rights (Article 11 of the ECHR). However, Greece does not implement these judgements and even today continues with the violation of the rights of the Turks as an ethnic and religious minority. This matter is not used as a political tool to bully Greece, we're merely concerned about the Turkish minority who cannot enjoy the rights they have under EU law. .

It's not atens but Athens (emphasize the "th" sweet pea). Where did you learn English? Quebec? Have you been to Thrace my dear? Where did you get your sources?
To Answer your question: No. There's no need to visit the Treaty Lausanne but visiting Lausanne absolutely! The ethnic minorities of Greece need to integrate to Greek society and not separate from it. Anything less would be considered interference in foreign sovereignty as TRT and the ErDOGanian governement is try to do.

Also, why are you enjoying journalistic freedom when thousands of Turkish journalists are either incarcerated by your Employer and try to risk they're lives and their families lives crossing the Aegean into Greece. I guess Greece isn't all that bad after all, huh?

You killed or chased off most of the 150 thousand Greeks that were supposed to remain in turkey after 1923. So if a muslim minority in out country is not treated well, consider it punishment for your sins.

I know many Muslims in Thrace, they are no Turks but Pomaks. They are blonde with white skin. They speak the pomakik language and they learn additionally Turkish in minority school. They have no equal job opportunities because they learn Turkish instead of Greek. This makes no sense.
