I (51y female) started a "powerlifting" program 3 weeks ago. I am obese and my aim is to build up muscle so that my basic metabolic rate increases and I will stop gaining weight and start loosing weight. My question is the following : do I need to have a restday between each workout day ? Or can I exercice every day, as in my program each workout session focuses on a different set of muscles. I was wondering about that because this program design in this video contains exercise every day. Thank you for your video's. Thumbs up from Belgium !

This has been my exact structure for the last half year. Now I'm feeling like I'm actually doing something right.

Question though: How does mobility and/or stretching fit in? My gut reaction would be to combine it with the high complexity days.

What 3 movements would you pick if you only had 3 for the rest of someone’s life?

I’m thinking swings, club shield casts, TGU

Maybe replace TGU with heavy sandbag carries

I am still fuzzy on light/heavy days. I don't know how to determine what weight or volume or work capacity should be for light or heavy.
I can go 16kg x 20 sets x 10 reps with my 2 hand swing or 10x5 for my goblet squat and those feel "heavy" to me because I'm pretty gassed at the end. How do I figure out actual light/heavy volume and weights used (I have singles or 12, 16, 20, and 24kg kettlebells).

Coach, how would Heavy/Light tire flips where the weight is fixed? Would that be a volume cycle for heavy and a lower volume cycle for light?
