Thank you for this tutorial and free pattern. I managed to make my husband a Christmas tie to match my Christmas skirt and it was really cute. The one thing we noticed ( in case it helps others) is that it would be useful to have a loop at the back to tie the end through when you're wearing it so it doesn't slide around as much. Will add one at some point. Still so appreciative, I'm fairly new to sewing and this was SO helpful!!! Happy Christmas!

The pattern shows the lining 1.5 incea smaller? Should i increas it to fit the outer fabric?

Help! My printer isn't working and the measurements don't add up on the blog post. for the long piece, the two sides are 32" and 35", but the total length is 43". Adding the 4" point to the side lengths doesn't get anywhere close to 43"

There really should be a smaller panel inside to help keep the shape if the tie. Made of wool or canvas, or slightly stiffer material.
