I think that, no matter its name, everyone will always remember this song as "Final Duet."

“When you first picked up your new violin you were so eager to play with me”

“But keeping things up aren’t that easy”

“I pushed you too hard”

“I’m sorry..”

“We never got to play that duet”

“Do you want to play it with me now?”

Never forget that they created an entire classical piano and violin duet for this game, one which follows the story of Sunny's life in the most beautiful way. This entire scene was the magnum opus of Omori, showing everything that this game truly is. Not one of fantasy, but one of love and tragedy.

pro tip: make this your ringtone so you’re forced to answer the phone before you start crying profusely

What makes me cry at this part is the fact that Sunny never speaks directly in the game, to us he is mute but here we can hear him for the first time through his violin.

I find it hard to call Omori a horror game. It uses horror elements, but they’re generally used sparingly to enhance the story it’s trying to tell. At its core, it isn’t really trying to scare the player, it’s just using horror to help you empathize with its protagonist, SUNNY.

the biggest pain of this game is when the group/hero constantly says “i don’t know why she would ever leave us like that” and omori just knowing that she wouldn’t to begin with but it was his fault

Man. I know vibrato is a thing for Violins but in some parts of these songs it sounds more like Sunny is shaking trying to play the song... it's probably been said before but it just adds that much more imo

The very shaky violin note at 1:48 is such an incredible touch of emotion.

Each character is a representation of the 5 stages of grief

Sunny - Denial

Aubrey - Anger

Basil - Bargaining

Hero - Depression

Kel - Acceptance

each character plays their roles out perfectly (:

I didn't cry when I first got to this scene. Because honestly, I felt like, while bittersweet, this was overall a happy scene. Sunny finally got to play The Duet with Mari, he finally was able to remember what makes life worth living, and he was finally able to get past the repressed trauma that had been tormenting him for 4 entire years.

But experiencing it again did have me shedding tears.
