Abra is derived from the word ‘abara’ which means to cross. There are several points along Dubai creek also called Abra stations. One of them is the Bur Dubai Abra near Meena bazar and Ghubaiba. The most commonly used waterbus from here takes you to the Deira souk area, but there are other options further along the creek.

The price is 1 dirham (one way). The waterbuses are mainly used by locals (i.e. immigrant workers) and have been doing their job for decades
