That is the only saddle I use. You never accidently get on the wrong horse when your saddle is so unique. I like the rattlesnake saddle too but it is not distinct enough to stand out. One thing you can add is that you should save your game before arriving at that area and if the panther is not a 3* you can reload for a random chance to get a 3*.

The Panther Trail and Beaver Roping saddles are my favorites, I never leave home without one of them! 👍

You dont have to place a bait...just go into the forest right after the stones, but be carefull, spawnzone...after a few steps turn left, not exactly 90° maybe 65°...carefully walk step by step and after a few more steps you should see him...or you hear the roar, then he saw you first...but anyway, respawn after 48h ingame hours :)

The problem is getting a perfect panther, first time I was hunting it for the saddle I struggled finding it in perfect condition, when I finally had one I went to Saint Denis to sell it but ran into a stranger opportunity, the one about the lady getting robbed and her man getting kill if you don't help in time, couldn't save the man, ran after the robber, went back to my horse the pelt was gone, I was so mad ._.

You need to go at the right times too. Evening/Night/Early morning. I have good luck riding through that patch along the road to catfish jackson's for panther's to spawn while riding my horse. Just have a brave horse and your rifle at the ready, go into dead-eye as soon as you see the red dot appear on the mini-map.

I just run in and head on the panther, they usually spawn easily without lure. If you calm your horse enough, usually you get to dead eye headshot before they freak out and drop you. If you get dropped usually panther will move away then do the 2nd charge, bring it down with a clean headshot. Just remember to get the rifle ready on horse before you enter this region.

Also remember if you’ve already got the saddle you can skin it, sell the pelt and carcass, a bit more money!

I found the panther totally by accident, I was camping near and crafting, left, it was dark so I used dead eye and saw it across the way. That saddle is the best

One method I use for panther hunts is getting it to chance me while on horseback and run into the water before taking it down since it won't fallow once you're in deep enough
