━━ About VISITFLANDERS ━━━━━━━━

As a Flemish government agency that is strategy and knowledge-driven, VISITFLANDERS is committed to the sustainable development and promotion of Flanders as a top tourist destination. We don’t do this by ourselves. Together with our tourism partners, we work to allow Flanders to flourish as an innovative, high-quality travel destination and to inspire potential visitors to put the region at the top of their bucket lists. Our ultimate goal? Using tourism to help Flanders flourish as a destination! We do so both for our residents and entrepreneurs and for you, our visitors. We pay special attention to sustainability, accessibility and family-friendliness.

We focus on the intense experience of a place, a destination. This can involve meaningful encounters, specific activities or a sustainable travel formula. Instead of concentrating on a specific city or region, we develop broader Flemish narratives based on interdependent themes. Wherever possible, we combine these themes to further strengthen people’s experience. Welcome to Flanders!

Made this old soldier well up watching this, lot of dust in my house, I truly miss Belgium, my second home and where 10 of my extended family's sons lay buried or remembered . and miss my wonderful Belgium friends and its people, who always seem so kind despite the fact we walk all over your land no doubt making a nuisance of ourselves at times, I suffer with combat stress yet when over in Belgium ironically, it seems to subside and I feel so much clearer of mind, thank you for all you do looking after our grandfathers n great grandfathers, uncles etc, hope to visit you this year again for my 19th visit since 2005 .

Well that's a tear jerker! My family have a few members still there, Lost But Not Forgotten. I love Flanders and the people, they make me feel more welcome than anywhere else I have visited in Europe. I hope to be back again soon.

I miss you too. I miss Gent, I miss Brugge but, most of all, I miss Ieper, one of the friendliest towns I've visited. That was a wonderful video. From a British visitor.

Wonderful video, I miss visiting Ypres and Walemollen where my grandfather was killed and love my stay at the B&B in the heart of Passchandaele battle in 1917, but will return as soon as I can.

Thank you all so much for this greeting from Flanders. Believe it or not, we really really really miss you too, you are such familiar faces, your welcome is always so sincere. I can't wait to get back to all the places that are so familiar that I don't consider myself a visitor any more, almost more like family. The pain of separation is real, but you have done a lot to keep the passion alive, especially the Talbot House talks and the Hooge (Crater) Boys videos! And on the first Monday of the month I always "go back" to the Sportsman Bar ready for the Welsh Ceremony at 7.30.
Thanks for keeping these memories alive, Covid permitting, we WILL be back as soon as we can, that's a promise.

I miss visiting Flanders. I was an exchange student in 1990. My host father passed away just recently and i could not make my duty due to Covid19. So sad. Much love from Turkey.

Lovely and moving video with a couple of familiar faces too! I am just glad I made it to Ypres in February with my school groups and hope we can return in summer 2021. We miss your friendly faces as well.

I would so love to visit these cemeteries but especially Flanders. I know that at my age and the expense prohibits me from going but I commend everyone in Europe who take care of the resting places for the fallen. So sad that Covid has prevented visitors. R.I.P. all those who have fallen.

I've been travelling regularly to Ypres, Brugges, Poperinge and West Flanders for many years and this is the first year I've missed in a long time. The area, the history, the people, the food and the beer - all are part of me now. And I will be back as soon as possible.
