Another Dangerous Philippines Typhoon Threat

Показать описание
Tropical Storm Yinxing formed yesterday in the Philippine Sea, and has been named Marce by PAGASA. With a building eyewall on microwave imagery and improving appearance on satellite, the storm is likely to reach typhoon status shortly as it continues on its approach to the northern Philippine islands.
Yinxing is expected to peak as a Category 2 typhoon, although could become stronger before slowing down on approach to the northern coast of Luzon. The storm is likely to scrape the coast or pass through the Babuyan Islands and move on into the cooler South China Sea. The storm is likely to run out of steam over the weekend out over water.
Winds of up to 160kph are possible in exposed areas of the coast, and heavy rainfall will reach up to 400mm in the northernmost provinces of Luzon, and on the Babuyan Islands. Strong winds will spread further north as the storm interacts with a front, and Taiwan is likely to see storm force winds as this process occurs on Thursday and Friday.
