My mom was told as a young mother that she would not grow old. She is old and I am nearly eligible to apply forSocial Security. In 1969 she was 25. She is nearly 82.

I am a ex elder who disassociated about a year ago. Deuteronomy 18:20 says whoever speaks in my name and it does not come true do not fear them because they will die. This is one of the main reasons I left because I looked at the history of watchtower on how Rutherford stole the position and became president of watchtower. Rutherford then changed everything Russel said. Watchtower never speaks about Rutherford ironically enough. The CSA cases is also why I left.

My ex-husband was raised a JW and was alive when this happened. He is upset because he was told that he would not grow old in this system, and now he is almost 60 years old. I think the GB is getting tons of letters and complaints about why this system is still going. Also, I feel that with the false 1914 teaching, that's 110 years past due lots of people are leaving because they are starting to see the false teachings. I am glad I fully woke up during the

I watched a video the other day the point the “apostate “ was that J W’s are good actors. They act like they love field service, they act like they love going to meetings all the time, or having to save up and go to assemblies and conventions. Look at the big smiles on the faces. Of the couple who finally were coerced to go to the “South “ congregation. Real actors trained well by the W T. They should get an Oscar!!!!

Coming home from the meeting and having to do the dishes because you didn't have time to do them before you left. Rather that than be late. Still have to get yours and the kids' clothes ready for the next day because you have a full time job and have to get up early. My life was hell being a witness. Talking about tired.
So glad I'm out.

My brother is dead from this religion and my life ruined! Grew up in it with an alcoholic elder father. They killed my brother! 😢

You sound like a lovely lady. I wasted my whole life in the borg. From 1968 until 4 years ago. My mom forced us two to go to meetings. My dad never became a Witness, but died an alcoholic. When I was 15 (in the 70s), dad demanded, "When are you getting baptized?" A normal teen reaction, I don't know. I didn't want to get baptized. I was sick of making up "talks" at the K. Hall. I was sick of going in service. But two years later, I thought I was bad and continued to be a robot for the organization. Hell on earth.
Elders even told my dad back then to not open a sandwich shop because the end was so close.
I was told not to open a boutique because I would miss meetings and service.
What a F... organization. I'm angry. I'm a senior living in the worst part of Vancouver, BC. in government housing. This sucks. But I'm writing a novel about my experiences and I hope it will help someone.
I'm also writing a book about a murderous rabbit. I love Stephen King books.

I was in high school when 1975 came and went, and the worst thing that happened was disco music. Well some of it was ok 🤭

Excellent video ... I was told that I would not grow old in this system of things. When they came out with the overlapping generation B.S. I realized that they were just making it up as they go along. So I started researching. I got completely out in 2015. I'm no longer being misled and manipulated by the Watchtower Organization.

Work, work, work, no matter how tired or unhappy you are. This is the organization motto for their members.

My dad got baptized in 1976. Since day one I was convinced we were, “standing on the threshold” of the great tribulation. He never quit saying that. In 95 when the society changed who the faithful and discreet slave class was it was th beginning of the end of my delusional faith.
He just passed away. I can never trust an organized religion again. If God is going to kill me for that then good. He’s not a god I would worship.

Thank you for such an awesome video! It came up in my feed. Wow that aspect of my life feels like an entire life time ago! 5 generations of my family were born and raised in the jw religion. Myself, husband and 2 sons have been out for almost 10 years now-disassociated after learning the horrific truth about the religion. Of course we lost many family members to the cult’s shunning-the worst being our only daughter and only grandchild who we have never met. If I could advise anyone who is still indoctrinated, it would be to please do your research and learn for yourself that the religion that your entire life revolves around, is a complete hoax. There is no Armageddon coming. We all get this one short life. Funny when I was growing up and we’d drive past cemeteries, it was drilled into me that death was something we would never have to experience, as of course the end was so close lol. Imagine the shock of waking up and facing my own mortality. It all reminds me of the Wizard of Oz movie how they discovered that there was no Wizard, just a man behind the curtain. Those of us who have woken up have learned the same thing-it’s just men behind the curtain, men making promises that they are completely incapable of fulfilling. How incredibly cruel to play with millions of people’s lives. It was hard learning that we were deceived by a man made organization that now sits trying to figure out how to keep the lie going for more generations to come. But with time, therapy to deprogram, self discovery, learning that others have woken up too, and staying busy making up for lost time-enjoying so much that we were forbidden to do in the cult, it gets easier-esp the anger finally going away. It has made for one awesome journey.

'Making disciples' for a 'date', a 'time of the end', a 'dangling carrot' through a false gospel message is planting seeds on 'rocky ground', seeds that have no root. Watchtower followers are in a sprint, not a marathon; burnout and disappointment often follow.
